To help us to grow and deepen our faith in these unusual times, I would like to draw your attention to a number of resources
- Awaiting the Dawn. Each day, throughout Lent, we will be sharing a video with the daily readings from Mass, spiritual guidance from a priest and an act of spiritual communion: https://www.lentinisolation.com/
- And for a Sunday sermon Torch provides a new Catholic homily each week written specially by Dominican friars: https://www.torch.op.org/
- It’s important not to lose the importance of spending time with the God who loves us. We can use that time not only to pray, but to learn more about our faith. Bishop Robert Barron’s YouTube channel is full of Catholic teaching: https://www.youtube.com/user/wordonfirevideo/
My friends, we are united with the Church throughout the world, we are united with the Communion of Saints in heaven, we are united with those who have died, now caught up in God’s love and still journeying towards the fulness of heavenly glory. We are the Body of Christ and we can never be alone, for Christ Himself has made his home in us.
And as St Paul wrote to the Church in Rome:
“With God on our side who can be against us?..Nothing therefore can come between us and the love of Christ, even if we are troubled or worried. For I am certain of this: neither death nor life..nothing that exists, nothing still to come, nor any created thing, can ever come between us and the love of God made visible Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:31-35.37-39)
